PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL ABUSE
![]()
Heavenly Father,
I come to You a broken person. The physical and emotional scars of an abusive spouse have
battered me to the point of despondency. I
desperately need Your presence and power.
Please dispatch Your angels as a hedge of protection
around my family (Job 1:10). Shield
us from further harm. For You, O
Lord will bless the righteous; / With favor You will surround him a with a
shield.
In the name of Jesus, I bind the spirit of anger,
vengeance, and violence over my spouse and my family.
In the name of Jesus, satan you are forbidden to gain any kind of
foothold into our lives through this
abuse. You are thief, and you come
only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that our family would manifest
His abundant life (John 10:10)
In the name of Jesus Christ, I loose peace, calmness,
temperance, and self control into my spouse and into my marriage.
I claim that my spouse will love me not only in word or in tongue, but in
deed and in truth (1 John 3:18). Transplant
from within my spouse a heart of stone into a heart of flesh.
In the name of Jesus, I come against a spirit of
condemnation over my family. There
is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1).
Disperse the enemy’s smoke screen that tells me our problem is my
fault. Because I am in Christ Jesus
I refuse to bear the blame for the behavior of others, nor do I allow it to take
root in my family. Lord Jesus, put
a stop to this generational sin and prevent us from acting out what we have
experienced.
God, as a member of the covenantal relationship with my
spouse, I earnestly plead for Your divine intervention.
Do whatever it takes to bring repentance to my spouse and restoration to
our marriage (Ezek. 33:11)
“You are my hiding place;/You shall preserve me from
trouble;/ You shall surround me with songs of deliverance”.
Sing to me Your precious songs of deliverance.
Remove the venomous arrows that have pierced my damaged soul and heal me
with Your atoning blood (Isa 53:5)
In this time of confusion, instill within me the
strength to continue (Eph. 6:13), the courage to confide in someone who can help
me, and the wisdom to know where to go from here.
Thank You for bestowing upon me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for heaviness. May I be called a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You may be glorified (Isa. 61:3).
