UNSAVED SPOUSE

Heavenly Father, 

Your word says that You are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:19).  I know that when I bring this request before You, I am in alignment with Your will because You desire all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Therefore, I come before Your throne with boldness, standing on Your Word:

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will,
He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,
we know that we have the petitions we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15) 

Lord Jesus, You love my spouse more than I do, and when You were hanging on that cross You were thinking not only of me, but them as well.  In the name of Jesus I bind the powers of darkness from deceiving my spouse from the truth.  Close their eyes to deception (1 John 1:8).  Shut their ears from the lies of the enemy.  Remove any influences that would draw them away from You.  In it’s place I loose the spirit of adoption (Rom 8:15).  Like a hound hot on the trail of its prey, O Hound of Heaven, doggedly pursue my spouse.  I release You to do whatever it take to bring my spouse to the place of complete submission to Your Lordship. 

There is nothing I can do to change their heart.  But You can.  Open their eyes to the truth of Your Word.  Take their heart of stone and transform it into a heart of flesh.  Draw people into my spouse’s path who would point them to Jesus Christ and share the words of eternal life.

As a believing member of our one-flesh covenant, my unbelieving spouse is sanctified, set apart and made holy (1 Cor. 7:14).  Bring them under the conviction of Your Holy Spirit so our unequal yoke can be replaced with an equal yoke.  

Show me my role in Your redemptive plan for my spouse.  Set a guard over my mouth and guide my actions so I won’t hinder Your Spirit’s work. 

On this day I make this proclamation: But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua. 24:15)
