A GRAIN OF FAITH

Scripture reading Mathew 17:14-21

Once more God has proven His word to be true
“All things work together for the good of those who
love the Lord and all called according to His purpose”

Read about how God used my broken a/c to bring us a word about faith.

The AC in the car went out and my husband said parts had to be ordered to repair it.  I thought ok, a few days without it wouldn’t be too bad.  I would run my errands in the morning before it gets too hot, and anything else that needed to be done could be taken care of in the evening (after the sun goes down).  This was my plan, not the Lord’s.

I was doing fine until, Friday afternoon when I had to go run an errand that couldn’t wait.  I’m thinking I would dress cool, you know shorts and a cotton top, put my hair up, leave the windows down.  I should be ok; the trip should only take about 30 to 45 minutes.   Well, I didn’t factor in red lights, slow traffic, or minor accidents.  Yes, all three happened.  By the time I returned home, I was drenched, my clothes were sticking to my skin.  I felt miserable.   Upon entering the house, I lowered the AC, turned on the ceiling fans, stripped out of my wet clothes, threw a towel around me, headed for a cold shower, and announced to the enemy “ You can forget about me, there ain’t no way I’m going to Hell, I can’t stand the heat”.

After getting out of the shower, and lying on the cool floor under the fan, I called my husband at his shop to tell him how much I appreciated how hard he worked.  Now it wasn’t that I hadn’t told him this before, but today it took on a whole new meaning.  It’s amazing what a little heat will do for you.   My husband laughed as I told him about my experience.  Then said that the parts had come in and he would fix the car when he got home.  I later shared the experience with my kids, who all laughed at me and called me “Drama Queen”.  They just didn’t understand, it was hot; their A/C’s were working just fine.

The following Sunday evening, as my husband and I were headed to dinner and I asked him what was wrong with the a/c.  He explained that the hose he replaced had a tiny hole in it, the size of a grain of sand.  He said something the size of a grain of sand had gotten in the hose and vibrated in one spot until it worked a hole in the hose.  A tiny grain, one tiny grain had made a difference in my life for almost a week.  One grain had altered everything that I did for a whole week.  One tiny grain...hmm.

One tiny grain had worked its way into that hose, how who knows? Stayed there in one spot, applied itself over and over, until it accomplished that which it had set to do, break my a/c and change my life.  I pray this newsletter will change yours.

Before I started writing this I went outside and looked at the sand, then picked up some sand, do you know how hard it is to get a grain of sand?  I settled for a few.  I looked at it for a while, until I had to shake myself back into reality. How could something so small affect my whole life?  My mind wondered back to when Jesus had to heal a sick child because His disciples couldn’t.   All I could think about what Jesus said to His disciples:

Mat 17:20 … for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as A GRAIN OF MUSTARD SEED,
ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place;
and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you
.

Do you see where I am going with this? Good let’s talk about “ A Grain of Faith”.   Have you ever been at a place in your life when you thought you were on the verge of a breakthrough and things could only get better for you? But all of a sudden things got worse?  You lost your job, your car broke down, even worse you got car repossessed, your marriage fell apart.  You say to the Lord  “ Ok, Jesus if one more thing happens I am going to snap”.  Then guess what, you got it; all hell breaks loose in your life.  It always gets darker before it gets brighter.  Have you been there? Are you there now? Do you need a breakthrough? Do you need something raised from the dead? Well, put a grain of faith on it, and watch what happens.

There are some of you giving up in your hearts even as I write this newsletter.  In your hearts you may be thinking that your marriage is dead, your business is dead, your finances are dead, your job is dead, or your ministry is dead.  Somebody is thinking what’s the use God doesn’t care anymore; “What am I doing all this for? How do you know that today is not your day of breakthrough?   Your blessing is not dead, your miracle is not dead, and your vision is not dead.  It is waiting for you to wake it up.  Your blessing is sleeping; it’s lying dormant.  It’s waiting for you put a grain of faith on it.  It is waiting for you to season it with faith, to spice it up with the everlasting Word of God.

Imagine cooking or eating foods with no seasoning, think of how bland and how dead it would be to taste.  Well so it is with your situation. Its come bland, lifeless, no taste to it.  Well if you put a grain (just a grain will do) of faith on it everything will change.  How you say?  Well let’s look at how you season your meat.  How you season it depends on what type of meat you are cooking.   Sometimes you sprinkle the seasoning on, sometimes you coat it, sometimes you rub the spices in, and then there are times you have to poke holes in it and marinate it overnight.  When it marinates over night the flavor of the seasoning goes all through the meat.  Well that’s what you have to do with the grain of faith.  Apply it according to your situation.   You may have to get the tenderizer out (faith) and apply it to the situation until it you have your breakthrough.  Only you know what type of seasoning your situation needs, but I know this … you must use it (faith) in order for it to work.

You say you don’t know what to season your situation with? Here are some spices for you out of the Main Cookbook: (apply as needed)

Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying,
According to your faith be it unto you.

Matthew 15:28
Then Jesus answered and said unto her,
O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Rom 4:20-21
I will stagger not at the promise of God through unbelief; but I will be strong in faith,
giving glory to God; I am fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he will perform.

Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

 Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Cor. 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Eph. 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Someone has been asking God for a miracle; well your miracle begins in your spirit.  You need to see it; you need to see it as done.  As soon as you see it as done, it will begin to manifest.  You must see it in your spirit.

You see I am going to do everything I can to lay hold to that which Christ has promised me.  Faith takes it and makes it yours, even if you don’t see it.  That’s what faith is.  The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to.

You have to believe your miracle is on the way.  You must purpose in your heart and refuse to allow the enemy to discourage you with thoughts of defeat.  I have seen what God has promised me and I am going after it with the Word of God.  God’s promise is all I need to know that it’s mine, and I am going to put a grain of faith on it and claim it.

I am going to be like Jacob and not turn Him loose until He blesses me.  I am going to be like Abraham and stagger not at the promise of God through unbelief, but be strong  in faith and believe that what God promised will come to pass.  I am going to be like that grain of something that vibrated and vibrated until it caused a breakthrough in my hose.   I am going to put a grain of faith on it until it comes to pass.

You see I believe what Jesus told Martha applies to me also.  He said“ Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:40) Well, I am going to believe and I am going to see the
Glory of God.

Now let me ask you something, how do you know the alarm clock you set each night will go off tomorrow to wake you up, yet you set it each night before you go to bed.  How do you know that you will get a paycheck when payday comes, yet you go to work everyday not even worrying about if the company will go bankrupt. How do you know your bank or 401k won’t go under tomorrow, yet each week you place your money in it.  You have put your faith in man over and over, and he has failed you over and over.  Now God has asked, and is still asking you to have faith in Him, to trust Him, believe that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above anything that you could ever ask or think, and yet you still look to man.  God is asking you to take a grain of faith and BELIEVE GOD for all you need!

Now I ask you, “What are you going to do?”

WHAT DID YOU ASK FOR…

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

I asked for Strength
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong

I asked for Wisdom

And God gave me Problems to solve

I asked for Prosperity
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work

I asked for Courage
And God gave me Danger to overcome

I asked for Love
And God gave me Troubled people to help

I asked for Favors....And God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted.....
I received everything I needed!

 I HAVE NOT FORSAKEN YOU

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
(Psalm 37:25 )

There is nothing that you are going through that I am not aware of. I see your trials,
and I see your pain I have not forsaken you, I have not left you, I have not turned away.

Please stop fretting about what you see, what you see is not of Me.
Remember what I told you, walk by faith not by sight.
So dry your eyes, I have not forsaken you.

Yes, I know your road has been rough, and you are beginning to feel like all hope is gone.
You don’t want to feel that way, but you do. That’s what the enemy wants you to feel.
Remember I told you that he would. But didn’t I tell you to call Me when he comes?
You can’t fight him with your strength; you need Me for this battle.
Don’t forget what I said, the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s Call Me, I have not forsaken you

My child I see you going over reports. Yes, I know what the reports say.
Why are you allowing the reports to intimidate you?
You are allowing the reports to become your God.
You are allowing the reports to cancel out My promises.
I AM THE REPORT for your life.  Trust Me, I have not forsaken you

Do you still feel forsaken?
Then let Me remind you of the night I prayed. Yes, that night.
The night before I died.
The night I prayed for you. Death was near, yet I was on My knees interceding for you.
Why would I pray for you, why would I die for you, and then forsake you?

You are My joy, You are My child,
You are the heir to the Kingdom so remember….
The Father never forsakes His children

THE WILL OF GOD

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you,
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you
.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears;
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Everything happens for a purpose.
We may not see the wisdom of it all now,
but trust and believe in the Lord that everything is for the best.

No matter what problem there is in your life,
keep your eyes on the Lord and not your present circumstances.
I heard a quote once that said

"Stop telling God how big your problem is,

and start telling your problem how big your God is."
